Конкурс был посвящён дню рождения Джорджа Харрисона. Одним из условий для конкурсантов было обязательное включение в свой репертуар одной композиции, написанной Джорджем.

To celebrate the 67th birth anniversary of George Harrison, whose friendship and collaboration with sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar is a popular chapter of musical history, the Ravi Shankar Centre presented a four-day festival of Indian classical music and dance. The aesthetically decorated open-air stage at the Ravi Shankar Centre in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri created the perfect ambience of spring with floral décor that filled the whole place with the fragrance of fresh flowers. The festival took a flying start with the mesmerising Madhuvanti and a Hori dhun by Rajendra Prasanna on shehnai.

ТНЮ: Я его альбомы несколько дней подряд слушала, по несколько часов, так у меня глюк даже был, - я забыла, что его уже нет, такой вот эффект присутствия получился.

The titles, which will be released at undisclosed times on DVD/Blu-ray Disc and electronically, include Time Bandits, The Long Good Friday, Oscar-nominated film noir Mona Lisa, A Private Function, black comedy Withnail & I and How to Get Ahead in Advertising, among others. Directed by Terry Gilliam, Bandits was Harrison’s most successfully produced movie, generating more than $42 million at the box office in the early 1980s. The 1982 gritty gangster drama Good Friday starred Oscar-nominee Bob Hoskins and Oscar-winner Helen Mirren; Withnail & I and Advertising both starred Richard Grant. Voldar: Как сообщает ресурс showbiz411 документальный фильм Мартина Скорсезе о Джорже Харрисоне почти готов.В работе над фильмом принимали участие Пол и Ринго и конечно Оливия.Также Скорсезе интервьировал Рави Шанкара и многих друзей Джоржа(будем надеяться,что среди них окажуться Боб,Том и Джефф).Фильм в Англии будет демонстрировать BBC,но возможен и показ в кинотеатрах в Америке. Скорсезе в будущем биопике о Франке Синатре,склоняется к привлечению на главную роль,его любимого актера Леонардо Ди Каприо. Even though Leonardo DiCaprio has been named as Martin Scorsese’s first choice to play Frank Sinatra, he seems like he’s still looking around. “When I see the new script soon, and meet with Tina Sinatra, we’ll start to think about it,” Scorsese told me last night. “He has to age from a teenager to his 70s, so we may have to have a few people play him. I don’t know.” Scorsese also talked to me about his upcoming BBC documentary about George Harrison. “We’ve talked to everyone. We did Paul and Ringo, and Olivia Harrison. She’s the one who gave us the rights for this.” Scorsese has also interviewed Ravi Shankar and most of George’s friends.
