Voldar: Димка ты имеешь в виду плату которая в голове или в компе?

Goldenday: Voldar пишет: Димка ты имеешь в виду плату которая в голове В ней родимой.

Voldar: Ещё одна грамотная статья на ту же тему,опять все по полочкам разложено. The Orchestra carries the torch for ELO's legacy Let's see, there's "Evil Woman," "Strange Magic," "Telephone Line," "Livin' Thing" and "Turn to Stone." Oh, and "Don't Bring Me Down," "Sweet Talkin' Woman," "Hold On Tight" and, well, nearly 30 Top 40 hits in the U.S. alone. To paraphrase yet another monster hit, you Can't Get Them Out of Your Head. The American Red Cross When the classic lineup of Electric Light Orchestra ruled the transcontinental airwaves back in the 1970s, it did more than simply graft string arrangements onto a series of rock and roll chestnuts ("Roll Over Beethoven") or present rocked-up renditions of the classics ("In the Hall of the Mountain King"). It also served as a precision-tuned showcase for the infectiously accessible songs and increasingly awesome studio wizardry of frontman Jeff Lynne. Lynne (who actually assumed command of ELO following the early departure of multitasking founder Roy Wood) kept that lineup going for an admirably long time — considering the unusually large roster, grueling tour schedule, massive budgets and the ego of their captain, who was chasing the legacy of The Beatles in his quest to rule both radio and recording studio. Things quieted down in the early part of the 1980s, with Lynne (who now controls the rights to the ELO name) fronting various stripped-down configurations, and eventually taking a reformed version of the band on the road about 10 years ago — having spent much of the prior decade as a Traveling Wilbury and a sought-after producer for some of the biggest names in music. In between, there was ELO Part II, a touring and recording unit that featured several familiar members of the original band, and an organization that continued under that name until 1999, when Lynne purchased full rights to the ELO brand. Since then, the electric torch has been carried around the world by an entity with the somewhat unwieldy name of The Orchestra: Former Members of ELO and ELO Part II. It's a razor-sharp new edition of the magnificent music machine that pulls into New Jersey Saturday night for a concert at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. With two veteran architects of ELO's sonic glories on board (violinist Mik Kaminski and longtime arranger-keyboardist Louis Clark), The Orchestra can scarcely be called a tribute band — although it now boasts the skills of original "Beatlemania" cast member and Central Jersey hometown hero Glen Burtnik. The Asbury-based singer, hit songwriter ("Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough") and musical go-to ace replaced the late Kelly Groucutt on bass and vocals for an extensive tour of Russia last year, having previously subbed for an ailing Groucutt on a Part II tour some 15 years ago. The American Red Cross Burtnik's hardly the only Jersey guy in this Orchestra, however. Hunterdon County resident Eric Troyer has been performing the music of ELO nearly as long as anyone alive, having first joined the Part II team in the late 1980s. The singer and keyboardist — whose many credits include work with another mad musical scientist, Jim Steinman (Meat Loaf, Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler) — joins Burtnik, Kaminski and Clark, plus guitarist-vocalist Phil Bates and drummer Gordon Townsend in a "rock format" core that's more compact than the full-orchestra show they traveled with through Eastern Europe. "We're getting a mix of younger and older people in Europe; places like Russia, England, Spain," Troyer observes. "We've played South America, Australia, Singapore — and we did our two all-time best shows in Israel." The band can't be said to have ignored the U.S. market, although Troyer suggests "we got tired of slogging it out on the summer circuit here." "The English guys don't really like to play the county fair circuit," he adds with a laugh. "People eating corn dogs; all that rib fest smoke wafting out over the band." Still, even though playing a set of some two dozen songs from a massive catalog of hits will inevitably leave someone in the audience feeling cheated out of their favorite tune, Troyer maintains, "We're still having fun — three of us are sharing lead vocal parts, and even switching off verses on "Strange Magic' and others. "There's a lot of ear candy in this music," he adds. "And we do a lot of rehearsing to get it just right — you can't just go in there and jam on these songs." http://www.app.com/article/20100416/ENT/4160304/The-Orchestra-carries-the-torch-for-ELO-s-legacy

"The Birth Of ELO" by Roy Wood "Jeff came along with a skeleton idea for a song which we intended to use for a B side on one of these tracks (California Man, Tonight or Chinatown). There were a few bits missing that Jeff and myself worked on, while the other lads took a break. We eventually recorded the backing track that afternoon. Bev and Rick were due to travel back to Birmingham on the train, so me and Jeff stayed and overdubbed the electric guitar riffs. "Around this time, I had started to collect musical instruments. Because of the impending idea for the orchestra, I had decided to buy a cello a couple of weeks earlier. It was a cheap Chinese job, and I hadn't got much of a clue, apart from knowing how to tune it, hold the bow correctly, and play Jimi Hendrix riffs on it! I took it into the control room while we were listening to the playback of the track, and joined in for a laugh, scraping away in 'I Am The Walrus' type fashion. Jeff said that sounds great and we should put it on the track. We ended up overdubbing loads of them, which eventually sounded like some colossal heavy metal cello band. As the instrumentation built up, we could feel that this was probably turning into the modern rock orchestra sound that we wanted to achieve... In fact, it sounded BLOODY MARVELOUS... We were ecstatic! "When we eventually came to record the vocals, Jeff was looking for a title to portray a man with a number instead of a name. After staring into the space for a while, we noticed the serial number on the modules of the recording console, 1053. With a bit of juggling, it ended up as 10538... and as its the first song with our new idea... 10538 Overture... YES!"

Ace Frehley - Do Ya
