It's just rumors and guessing. Nothing fact-based. The fact of the matter is Jeff is still working in the studio. He's not finished. I've told you guys that there's more than one release planned, not including Joe Walsh's solo. It's not a case of Jeff and management being "dishonest," as your post infers. While Jeff is in the studio, he's still creating. Call me crazy, but isn't this a good thing? It means he's not done. Until he knows what he's going to release, he doesn't want to make a statement. That's fair, right? Fans want what they want when they want it. An artist can't concern him or herself with fan chat. And I'm not going to concern myself with what's being posted around the internet. I am in touch with management weekly. An announcement will come when Jeff is finished.

Линн завязывал всем глаза, приводил за верёвочку связанных Электриков в студию, раздавал инструменты и ноты. Снимал повязки с глаз и засекал 20 минут на вникание. А потом - запись! И всё это за "спасибо". Вот Келли и не выдержал. Он и так был старше всех, пенсия по тем временам была маленькая........

Jeff Lynne by Francis Rossi The Everly Brothers were the ones that really got me started, but if we’re talking Icon in the singular then it’s got to be Jeff Lynne. I first met him in the late 1960s with his band called The Idle Race, who played covers incredibly well. When they copied something it was bang on. When they copied something it was bang on. Even before he formed the Electric Light Orchestra, Jeff was the first one to get that lovely cello-type noise from a Stratocaster guitar by plucking the string and opening the volume. I’m not sure why but I’m still not too keen on ELO’s first [self-titled album, from 1971], but from then onwards all he did was great. They had the guts to do things that the rest of us wished they were doing. Jeff had no inhibitions about what may or may not be cool, he just did what he liked. He came to a Quo concert in Birmingham and we played snooker afterwards. I asked him how he got certain moods and sounds on the Discovery album [1979]. He told me that he just pretended to be the person he’d been inspired by. I asked if he was trying to be Roy Orbison on the track Confusion and he replied: ‘No, Helen Shapiro.’ That made me laugh. In the same conversation, I told him about an effect called an Emulator I’d just bought for about £11,000 – ridiculous money. I said: ‘It’s great, it can sample anything – dog barks, farts, play things backwards, anything.’ He replied: ‘Naaah, I’m not into that modern shit.’ Then I played the Secret Messages album when it came out [in 1983] and there was a fucking dog barking on there, too. Also, at the end of A New World Record [1976] – on the vinyl, at least – a Vocoder announced: ‘Please turn me over’. Genius! The only thing wrong with Jeff is that he comes from Birmingham. We worked with ELO occasionally but they weren’t too great live. They struggled to get the balance right between the cellos and the band. But I’ve always liked Jeff’s writing style; his solo album – Armchair Theatre [1990] – and the [Traveling Wilburys] stuff that he did with Tom Petty. To be honest, I bore the tits off people talking about Jeff Lynne, because other than that first ELO album I love everything he’s done. Actually, I wish I hadn’t said that. Collections of Fab Four alternate takes and unissued material - originally released as a trio of two-CD sets in 1995-96 in conjunction with the "Anthology" TV series and book - will be issued as three iTunes albums (at $29.99) and a comprehensive 155-track digital set ($79.99). Individual tracks will be sold at Apple's premium price of $1.29 each. Release will mark the digital debuts of the singles "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love," completed by George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Star from 1977 demos by John Lennon and originally issued on the first two "Anthology" volumes. Wild Flag Announce Details of Their Debut Album Local super-duper group Wild Flag—Carrie Brownstein, Rebecca Cole, Mary Timony, Janet Weiss, and Jeff Lynne (just like the Traveling Wilburys, everyone forgets that Lynne is in this band)—have shared a few details of their much-anticipated debut LP. The self-titled record will be out on Merge Records on the 13th of September and if you want to hear the album's first single, "Romance," tune into WFMU's “The Cherry Blossom Clinic” tomorrow between noon and 1pm.
