Борис: В моей памяти с конца 80-х The Traveling Wilburys не отразилась и не помню, что ее обсуждали. Первое знакомство с группой произошло через муз. передачу на ЦТ, которую вел, кажется, Антипов (возможно о нем говорил Дмитрий). Чуть позже, в других передачах, из репертуара группы раскручивали одну песню в соло-исполнении Роя Орбисона. Музыка очень запала, также как и странноватость Роя.

Goldenday: "очень мрачный" - ещё мягко сказано! У этого персонажа глазки исподлобья так бегают вправо-влево, словно он мешок колхозной муки стащил в 35-м Ни дать, ни взять - серийный маньяк.

But Tom Petty is no Ras Trent. He's a 60-year-old man. He's old enough to be on posters with Bob Marley, if he were cool and dead like Jim Morrison. This is more like your dad using his golden years to follow around 311. Joke scientists haven't even discovered a word for this (though I recommend "Irie-tirement"). "Don't Pull Me Over" combines the halting, all-elbows island rhythms of a gang of AARP-members doing Peter Tosh with the sad croon of poor, hapless, beaten-down working man Tom multimillionaire Petty crying "Don't pull me over, Mr. Pooooliceman." As far as I can tell, the two underlying messages of the songs are 1)"it [marijuana] should be lee-goo-lized" and 2) Tom Petty fans will listen to anything as long as he drags his husk out and plays "American Girl" once in a while. Seriously this makes the music videos of him trading spit with dead-ass Kim Basinger look sane as hell. Also, hey Mike Campbell, how about some more wah-wah pedal on that guitar solo, you fuck. As Petty told Rolling Stone, "We were having so much fun recording that we had to force ourselves to pull the plug -- it could have gone on and on." Bob Dylan to Publish 6 More Books Bob Dylan has not only inked a deal to publish the highly anticipated second and third volumes in his trilogy of memoirs, Chronicles, but the poet laureate of rock has even more books on the way, as well. Crain’s New York Business reports that Dylan’s literary agent sought an 8-figure deal with publishing house Simon & Schuster for the iconic singer-songwriter, which would include the Chronicles follow-ups, a book of dialogue from his “Theme Time Radio Hour” show on Sirius/XM, and 3 more to-be-revealed efforts. Voldar: Bob Dylan Signs Six-Book Deal Bob Dylan has signed a six-book deal with Simon & Schuster, according to Crain's New York Business, encompassing two sequels to his acclaimed 2004 book Chronicles: Volume One as well as another book based on dialogue from his Sirius/XM radio show Theme Time Radio Hour. It's unclear what the other three books are going to be. According to the Crain's, Dylan's literary agent Andrew Wylie was seeking an eight-figure deal for the books. (Dylan has not responded to Rolling Stone's request for comment). In 2006 Dylan told Rolling Stone that he was stunned by the overwhelmingly positive response to the first volume of Chronicles. "The reviews of this book, some of 'em almost made me cry - in a good way," he told writer Jonathan Lethem. "I'd never felt that from a music critic, ever....Most people who write about music, they have no idea what it feels like to play it. But with the book I wrote, I thought, 'The people who are writing reviews of this book, man, they know what the hell they're talking about.' It spoils you." In that same article, he discussed his possible plans for Chronicles: Volume 2. "I think I can go back to the Blonde on Blonde album — that's probably about as far back as I can go on the next book," he said. "Then I'll probably go forward. I thought of an interesting time. I made this record, Under the Red Sky, with Don Was, but at the same time I was also doing the [second] Wilburys record. I don't know how it happened that I got into both albums at the same time. I worked with George [Harrison] and Jeff [Lynne] during the day — everything had to be done in one day, the track and the song had to be written in one day, and then I'd go down and see Don Was, and I felt like I was walking into a wall. He'd have a different band for me to play with every day, a lot of all-stars, for no particular purpose.
